National
Amtrak National service based in Philadelphia, PA
Amtrak trains trace the Pacific Coast, climb the Rockies, cross the Great Plains and head up and down the Eastern Seaboard. Among signature services, high-speed Acela trains ply the Boston-Washington Corridor, Auto Trains transport winter-weary northerners to sunny Florida and West Coast passengers make connections along the Coast Starlight's LA-San Francisco-Portland-Seattle line. Long-distance trains, with first-class Sleeper service, criss-cross the country. Frequent (multiple daily trip) regional services are largely concentrated on the West Coast... between Chicago and Midwest cities... and in the Northeast. The vast national passenger rail network connects some 450 destinations across 46 states.
Alaska
Alaska Railroad Anchorage, Alaska ARR's range of services are geared to answer the needs of several traveler demographics. Year-round passenger service between Anchorage and Fairbanks runs daily in summer, weekly from September to May. A "whistle-stop" branch loop runs selected days in summer; weekly at other times. Also: Coastal Classic (Seward) and Glacier Discovery excursions from May to September.
New York (Long Island)
MTA LIRR Long Island Railroad New York, NY Two major LIRR lines extend the length of Long Island. Main Line trains connect Penn Station with Hempstead, Oyster Bay, Babylon, Port Jefferson and Greenport (Southold). Atlantic Line trains link Flatbush Avenue (Brooklyn) with Far Rockaway, Long Beach, West Hempstead, Babylon and Montauk. Both lines serve several intermediate City Terminal Zone stations before converging on Jamaica where transfer between all trains is possible. A separate service connects Penn Station and Port Washington.

Union Station Chicago, Illinois Amtrak Services Regional services including Hiawatha trains to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Separate services to Naperville, Missouri, Indiana and Michigan. Also through service to Boston, New York, Washington D.C., New Orleans, Texas, California and Pacific Northwest.
Metra Northeast Illinois Regional Commuter Railroad Corporation trains serve Antioch, Fox Lake, Elgin, Aurora, Joliet and Manhattan.
Ogilvie Transportation Center Chicago, Illinois Metra Union Pacific North Line Northeast Illinois Regional Commuter Railroad Corporation trains serve Geneva, Harvard/McHenry and Kenosha, Wisconsin.
LaSalle Street Station Chicago, Illinois Metra Rock Island District Northeast Illinois Regional Commuter Railroad Corporation trains to Joliet and intermediate points.
Millenium Station (Randolph Street) Chicago, Illinois Metra Northeast Illinois Regional Commuter Railroad Corporation trains to University Park and intermediate stations.
South Shore Line Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District trains to Northern Indiana destinations including South Bend.
Union Station Los Angeles, California Amtrak Services West Coast regional services include Coast Starlight to Portland and Seattle. Separate services to San Diego, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo. Also through service to Chicago, Texas, New Orleans and intermediate points.
MetroLink Commuter Train Service Southern California Regional Rail Authority trains serve 50 stations across greater Los Angeles including Burbank, Anaheim and San Bernardino.
Pennsylvania Station Manhattan, New York City Amtrak Services Northeast regional services to Boston, Philadelphia and Washington D.C. include Acela high-speed line. Separate services to Albany, Buffalo/Niagara Falls, Vermont and Montreal, Canada. Also through service to Chicago and the Midwest; Florida and points south.
MTA Long Island Railroad Metropolitan Transit Authority LIRR trains serve over 120 stations along the length of Long Island, including destinations in the Hamptons.
NJT New Jersey Transit Trains serve destinations across Northern New Jersey including Newark (transfer for Atlantic City Express) and Newark International Airport, Princeton and Trenton.
Grand Central Station Manhattan, New York City MTA Metro North Railroad Metropolitan Transit Authority Metro North trains serve New York's Hudson Valley suburbs as well as Connecticut destinations including Stamford, Danbury and New Haven.
30th Street Station Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Amtrak Services Northeast regional services to Boston, New York City, Baltimore and Washington D.C. including Acela high-speed line. Separate services to Harrisburg, Pittsburgh and Vermont. Also through service to Chicago and the Midwest; Florida and points south.
SEPTA Regional Rail Southeast Pennsylvania Transit Authority trains serve Eastern Pennsylvania, including Bucks County, as well as Trenton and Newark, New Jersey and Wilmington, Delaware.
NJT Atlantic City Rail Line New Jersey Transit service to the coastal resort city.

VRE Virginia Railway Express Trains serve Virginia suburbs, including Crystal City and Alexandria, along separate Manassas and Fredericksburg lines.
