Amtrak trains roll through the Southwest USA along several legendary routes. The Texas Eagle connects Lone Star burgs like San Antonio, Austin and Dallas with Little Rock and Chicago. Along the way, passengers can connect with the Heartland Flyer, Amtrak's regional service between Fort Worth and Oklahoma City.

The fabled Southwest Chief puts Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Flagstaff and the Grand Canyon a day or so away from Los Angeles and Chicago. Southernmost among Amtrak's Southwest services, the Sunset Limited calls on Houston, San Antonio, El Paso and Tucson en route between New Orleans and Los Angeles.
