A popular funicular scales the heights of South Africa's Cape of Good Hope.

Apple Express Port Elizabeth 0nce reserved for hauling apples, today the narrow-gauge steam train follows a picturesque route for a peaceful midday rail trip from Port Elizabeth to Thornhill and return. Lunchbreak at Thornhill. Charters of a few hours to six days may be arranged.
Cape Point Funicular Cape Town Situated in the nature reserve at the southernmost reach of the Cape of Good Hope, the funicular crawls along its steep and curving track to Cape Point's rocky promentory. There riders disembark to view the sweep of False Bay meeting the Atlantic.
Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe George Enjoy a classic steam-drawn excursion along the Outeniqualand Preserved Railway between George and Knysna in the heart of ZA's famous Garden Route lake district. The Choo-Tjoe is the last regularly scheduled steam-hauled passenger train operating in Southern Africa. Adjacent Outeniqua Railway Museum showcases railway development in Southern Africa. Daily except Sunday.
